Frequently Asked Questions
Advisory
What does uMorphos actually do?
We fix the systems your organization depends on.
That includes financial infrastructure, compliance and oversight, and the workflows that drive execution. Most environments don’t need more tools, they need structure. That’s what we build.
How is this different from hiring a consultant?
Consultants deliver recommendations. We implement working systems.
That means defined ownership, usable reporting, embedded compliance, and workflows your team can actually operate, without relying on a deck after the engagement ends.
What is the Strategic Assessment?
The Strategic Assessment is the entry point.
We step into your environment, identify what’s actually broken, quantify the impact, and begin stabilizing high-risk areas. You leave with a clear understanding of where your system is failing and what needs to happen next.
How long does the Strategic Assessment take?
Typically 7 days.
It depends on the complexity of your environment, the number of systems involved, and how quickly information is available.
What happens after the assessment?
We move into stabilization.
That includes fixing high-risk issues, rebuilding core systems, and establishing the infrastructure required for consistent execution. After that, we operate as an ongoing infrastructure partner.
Do you replace our internal team?
No.
We strengthen your team by fixing the systems they rely on. Most internal teams are working around broken structures. Once those are corrected, performance improves without adding headcount.
Do you work with specific industries?
Yes, but the common factor is complexity.
We are most effective in environments with multiple funding sources, compliance requirements, shared services, or operational structures that have outpaced their systems.
Do you help with grants management?
Yes — primarily on the post-award side, with financial support on the pre-award phase.
We deliver post-award grants management two ways:
  • Advisory — We rebuild your post-award infrastructure: execution, reporting, compliance, sub-recipient oversight, and alignment with federal and state requirements.
  • Software — uMorphos Grants is our purpose-built post-award compliance platform. It operationalizes compliance at the workflow layer — turning the framework into execution your team uses every day.
Do you implement AI?
Yes, but not as a standalone solution.
We integrate AI and automation into existing workflows, financial systems, and reporting structures. If the system isn’t stable, AI creates noise. If it is, AI creates leverage.
Do you fix financial reporting and accounting systems?
Yes.
We rebuild financial infrastructure so reporting reflects how the organization actually operates. That includes close processes, reporting structure, cost allocation, and visibility across programs or functions.
The goal is simple: financials you can trust and use for decisions, not reports that have to be interpreted or corrected.
Do you handle cost allocation and indirect cost rates?
Yes.
We design and implement cost allocation structures and support indirect cost rate strategies so shared costs are properly distributed and fully visible. This is often where financial distortion and missed recovery exist.
What systems or tools do you work with?
We work across your existing environment.
That may include accounting systems, grants platforms, reporting tools, and internal workflows. The focus is not replacing tools, it’s making them work together correctly.
uMorphos Grants (Software)
What is uMorphos Grants?
uMorphos Grants is our post-award compliance software, purpose-built for federally funded organizations.
Most grants software was built for pre-award — finding opportunities and writing proposals. uMorphos Grants picks up where that ends. It operationalizes post-award compliance inside the workflow so it gets executed by the system, not chased by your team.
How is this different from other grants management software?
Most grants software is pre-award. uMorphos Grants is post-award.
That means workflow, documentation, sub-recipient monitoring, 2 CFR 200 alignment, indirect cost recovery, and continuous audit posture — all operationalized inside the platform. If your organization already has a pre-award tool, uMorphos Grants picks up where it leaves off.
Can we deploy uMorphos Grants without hiring you for advisory?
uMorphos Grants currently deploys inside advisory engagements as we expand standalone availability. Contact us to discuss whether your environment qualifies for early standalone deployment.
Who is uMorphos Grants built for?
Publicly funded organizations managing awards.
It's most effective in local government, not-for-profits, and tribal organizations — environments with multiple funding sources, sub-recipient pass-through, and material federal compliance exposure. If your post-award workflow currently lives in spreadsheets and email, this is built for you.
What does uMorphos Grants do?
It operationalizes post-award compliance at the workflow layer.
That includes documentation captured as work happens, sub-recipient monitoring inside the workflow, 2 CFR 200 alignment in daily practice, indirect cost recovery captured during the fiscal year, and continuous single audit posture. The system executes the work. Your team stops chasing it.
How long does implementation take?
Typically 30 to 60 days.
It depends on the complexity of your environment, the number of awards, and the state of your existing post-award workflow. We define the timeline at the start of the engagement.
Does uMorphos Grants integrate with our accounting system?
Yes.
We work across your existing environment — accounting systems, ERPs, reporting tools, and other platforms. The focus is making the systems work together, not replacing what you already have.
How is uMorphos Grants priced?
Pricing depends on the size of your federal portfolio, number of awards, and implementation scope.
We share pricing on the demo call, after we understand your environment.
Is uMorphos Grants secure and compliant?
Yes.
The platform is built to support federally funded environments with the security and audit posture those environments require. We walk through the specifics — data handling, access controls, audit trails — during the demo.
What kind of support comes with the software?
Implementation support is included.
That covers onboarding, configuration, integration with existing systems, team training, and ongoing technical support. For organizations that need infrastructure rebuilt alongside the software, we pair the deployment with advisory.
What if our team isn't ready for new software?
Then start with the Strategic Assessment.
If the underlying infrastructure is broken, software amplifies the problem. We diagnose what's actually wrong, quantify the cost, and rebuild the structure first.
Should we start with the software or the advisory?
It depends on where the failure is.
Start with the software if your post-award workflow needs an engine but the underlying methodology and compliance structure are sound. Start with advisory if you suspect the infrastructure has drifted — stale indirect cost rate, repeat findings, fragmented documentation. Not sure? Talk to us.
How do you price your services?
Pricing depends on scope and complexity.
The Strategic Assessment is a defined engagement. Ongoing advisory is structured based on the level of infrastructure required, the number of systems involved, and the depth of support needed. uMorphos Grants is priced based on the size of your federal portfolio, number of awards, and implementation scope — and we share specifics on the demo call.
Do you guarantee results?
We stand behind the systems and software we deliver.
That includes accurate reporting, structured workflows, compliant processes, and a software platform that performs as designed. We do not guarantee outcomes driven by external factors — grant decisions, audits, internal actions, or anything outside our control.
What kind of organizations are not a fit?
Organizations looking for quick fixes, without operational complexity, or not ready to act.
That applies on both sides. Advisory is not a fit if you want one-off recommendations without implementation. uMorphos Grants is not a fit if your underlying infrastructure is broken — software amplifies what's underneath it. Start with the Strategic Assessment if you're not sure which side fits.
What do we need to get started?
Access and visibility.
For advisory, that means financial reporting, current grants management, key systems and tools, and a walkthrough of how work actually gets done. For uMorphos Grants, it means access to your federal award portfolio, existing post-award workflow, and the systems we'll integrate with. We define exactly what's needed at the start and guide the process from there.
How quickly can we start?
Immediately after qualification.
For advisory, we begin the Strategic Assessment and start identifying and stabilizing issues right away. For uMorphos Grants, implementation typically begins within two weeks of contract signature, with full deployment in 30 to 60 days.
